Our Mission
AceKids Daycare is a childcare provider (soon to be licensed) located in Colwood, BC. Our mission is to provide children with world-class early education that prepares them for success in life. We offer an incredible opportunity for children to not only explore and learn about themselves, but also discover the world and how they can make a positive impact. We offer full and part-time child care for children aged 9 months to 5 years.
Our programs are designed to meet the needs of working families, with a focus on flexibility, quality, and innovation. We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn and grow in a supportive environment, and our team of dedicated educators are committed to providing an enriching experience for each and every one of our students.
Our Curriculum
Our approach to child care is rooted in play-based education, which helps children learn through exploration and creativity. This is why we have partnered with Learning Beyond to develop a comprehensive STEAM (Science, Technology Engineering, Arts, and Maths) based curriculum that will inform the learning plans in each classroom. We also offer a variety of extracurricular activities, such as pre-literacy and reading, artistic expression, music and movement, science and exploration, and language development. With our personalized curriculum, we help each child reach their full potential while fostering a sense of community among our families.
We use fun, research-based, multi-sensory strategies to help children develop early learning skills, including Lively Letters, Open Court for phonics and literacy, Handwriting Without Tears, and Everyday Math. Our responsive classrooms act as the basis for our social and emotional learning curriculum throughout our centre.
Our Educators
We believe that educators are the heart of any childcare centre. That’s why we take great care to hire only those who are passionate about education, eager for new challenges, insightful enough to help our students succeed – but most importantly: great people!
Our team consists of people from various backgrounds but they all have one thing in common: They love kids and are family oriented! We’re also committed to providing our educators with all of the resources needed so they can in turn give every child an enriching experience from day one, no matter their background or situation in life.
To show our commitment to your child’s safety, we always ensure our educators have the following:
- CPR Certificate
- First Aid Certificate
- Successful Criminal Record Check
- B.C Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
- Two or more years of experience working with children
